CHIKOWSKI — Lettie May Chikowski, beloved widow of the late Steve Chikowski of Brooks, passed away in Brooks on December 16th, 2001 at the age of 90 years.
Born in Burgess, Saskatchewan on May 29th, 1911 Lettie and Steve were married November 30th, 1935 in Burgess and farmed in the Rainier area until moving to Brooks in 1966. Lettle loved her family, grandchildren and flowers, often winning awards at the Fall Fair, and for her baking and cooking.
Lettie was predeceased by her son Jerry on May 7th, 1992 and her husband Steve on March 15th, 1998.
She is survived by her loving family, daughters Mary Lou Jones and her husband Toby of Gordondale, Alberta, Joyce Helem of Nanaimo and Eleanor McLeod of Red Deer; son Fred and his wife Lorraine of High River; 15 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; brother Paul Prokopuk of Burgess; 4 sisters Lil Merritt of Nanaimo, Mary Chelte of Brooks, Gladys Burnett of Calgary and Jean Alton of Vancouver and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday. December 22nd from Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. George Edmonds officiating, Active Pallbearers are her grandchildren, Wanda Kelly, Karen McLeod, Steve Chikowski, Brad Chikowski, Tyler Chikowski, Christy Chikowski and Garrett Chikowski.
