CONN – Grace Jean Conn of Brooks, Alberta died on October 8, 1987 in Brooks at the age of 67 years.
She was born at Gull lake, Saskatchewan and was raised at Garden Head, Saskatchewan. She took graduate nurses training at Grey Nuns in Regina and nursed at Brooks, Maple Creek and was head nurse of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan and married there on May 10, 1947.
She moved to Penticton and nursed until returning to Brooks in the spring of 1977 where she has resided since.
She was a member of Brooks United Church and the U.C.W.
Surviving are her husband Ray of Brooks, two sons, Don of Calgary and Ken of Grande Prairie, four grandchildren, Tracey and Carlin and Alison and Bradley, a brother, Rod Sinclair of Shaunavon,.two sisters, Anne Parker of Medicine Hat and Catherine (Bunty) Sinclair of Swift Current (formerly of Shaunavon) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 13 at 2 p.m. in Brooks United Church with the Reverend Jim Hamilton and Judi McCulloch officiating. Interment followed in Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ted Parker, Ken Conn, Hugh Webster, Gordon Bredeahl, Earl Duncan and Frank Parker.
