CONNORS – Olive F. (Bunny) Connors died in the Brooks Health Centre on January 3, 1990 at the age of 67 years.
She was born at Wardlow, Alberta on October 29, 1922 where she was raised and received her schooling.
She was a respected member of the Cessford, Wardlow and Patricia communities and was always foremost in helping her neighbors. She was a tireless worker for the Ella-Jane Womens Institute and an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed ballgames and watching her children curling.
In 1942, she married Victor Roper and four children were born to this union, Russell, Gwen, Kenneth and Dan. She was predeceased by her husband Victor in 1955. In 1957 she married Elmer Conners of Cessford and they had one son, Lyle.
She was predeceased by her husband Elmer in 1979, two children, Gwen and Kenneth, her parents, brothers Eddy and Maurice and a sister Ruth.
Surviving are her sons, Russell Roper, Dan (Sharon) Roper, all of Stewart, B.C., Lyle (Susan) Conners of Cessford, eight grandchildren, three great granddaughters, two brothers, Ray (Ethel) Zeer of Brooks, Ike (Joy) Zeer of Duchess, a sister Lila (Ernest) Pierson of Wardlow and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, January 6 at 2 p.m. in Brooks United Church with the Reverend Charles Ramer officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Doug and Dorothy Williams and Dave and Geraldine Griffith. Active pallbearers were Del Griffith, Rick Williams, Ron Williams, Allen Conners, Ken Ferguson and lan Zeer.
