CORKISH – Viola Kathleen Corkish died on December 22, 1987 at Rainier, Alberta at the age of 84 years.
She was born at Hazelcliff, Saskatchewan and came to the Taber and Bow City area in 1909. She married Ted Corkish in March, 1925, moved to Olds in 1931, returned to Bow City in 1941 and moved to Rainier in 1972 where she has resided since.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1973 and a son William in 1928.
Surviving are two daughters Lily E Hodgson and her husband Harvey of Granum and Mary Luton and her husband Mike of Rainier, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, two brothers Don Koepke of Cutbank, Montana and Henry Koepke of Great Falls, Montana, a sister Catherine McAlpine of Sunburst, Montana, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m. in Smith Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Jim F Hamilton officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Hodgson, Gail Alcock, Gordon Alcock, Leo Smith, L William Darago and Zolton Darago.
