CORNELSEN – Rachelle Ann Cornelsen died accidentally on September 20, 1985 at the age of 17 years.
She loved music and was a member of the Friends of Song, singing group in Brooks. She also enjoyed the outdoors, swimming, bowling, weightlifting, aerobics and drama.
Surviving are her mother and step-father, Connie and Robert Cornelsen of Medicine Hat and her father, Robert Hafner of Brooks, three sisters, Debbie Hafner and her son Shayne Michael Hafner of Vancouver, Washington, Renee Hafner of Irvine,
California and Cheryl (Jerry) Clopton and their son Christopher Robin Clopton, all of Vancouver, Washington. her grandparents, Adele Baker of Medicine Hat, Walter and Lois Sauer of Belview, Washington, and her step
grandmother, Agnes Comelsen of Penticton, B.C.; as well as numerous aunts and uncles.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 24 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Reverend Andy Hoskin of St. Alban’s Anglican Church officiating. Interment followed in Brooks Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Norm De Meers, Carmen Riediger and Bob Cote. Active pallbearers were John Vladesav, Curtis Dyck, Dennis Deering, Edwin Deering, John VanDuzee and Brent Rhem.
