She was born at Alexandria, Minnesota, U.S.A. and came to Alberta in 1918 from Lake Mary, Minnesota to Bindloss, Alberta.
She married in Empress on April 11, 1923, came to the Brooks district in 1933 and farmed with her husband. She retired to Brooks in 1962 where she had resided since.
She was predeceased by her husband Napoleon (Nap) on May 3, 1968 and a son, Robert on May 2, 1989.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Amy Cyr of Winnipeg; four grandchildren, Delmarie Andersen of St. Andrews, Man., Lynette Shelton of Toronto, Robert Cyr of St. Andrews and Ramey Cyr of Winnipeg; two brothers, Joe Hiebel and John Hiebel of Alexandria; a sister, Anne Barros of Nipawin, Sask. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 10 at 1 :30 p.m. at Smith’s Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Keith Sorge officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill Armstrong, Fred Unchelenko, Arnold Cyr, Willie Cyr, Henry Cyr and Charlie Cyr. If friends desire memorial donations may be made to the Brooks Health Centre Memorial Fund.
Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
