Deschamps, Oliver E.

DESCHAMPS – Oliver E. Deschamps,  beloved husband of Vivian Deschamps,  passed away in Brooks on April 14th,  2000 at the age of 84 years.

Born in Lac Pelletier, Saskatchewan on  October 4th, 1915 he received his  schooling there and went on to work on  the Burns 76 Ranch in southwestern  Saskatchewan. Oliver worked there until  the late 1930’s when he moved to Alberta  working on various Burns Ranches before  settling as foreman on the Circle Ranch  in Patricia from 1941 – 1950 Oliver and  Vivian were married in 1943 and have  resided in the Patricia area until Oliver’s failing health resulted in a move to the  Brooks Health Centre in 1998 He loved  his family, children, people, cattle, hunting  and fishing. Oliver will be remembered  for his honesty and his straight forward  personality.

He was predeceased by 10 siblings. Oliver is also survived by his loving children Shelia Conners and her husband Allan of Patricia, Vicky Cairney and her  husband Bob of Calgary, Bob of Patricia, Brent and his wife Shauna of Patricia and Brad and his wife Kelly of Patricia; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, brother Rene  (Doris); sister Bertha Kabeary all of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 19th from Smith  Memorial Chapel; Rev. Bryan Frank officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Irwin, John Sears, Dempster Havens, John  Ostafichuk, Kenny Olson, John Fryberger, Doug Hendrickson, Don Owen, Alf Tobler,  Ike Sunstrum, Lee Beasley and Bill Highet.
