Dibble, May & ThomasDIBBLE – May Dibble passed away March 4, 1980 in the Brooks Health Centre at the age of 94 years.

Born in Epsom, Surrey County, England, she was married there in 1931 and came to Canada in 1932 to Brooks and has resided here ever since.

Mrs. Dibble was a long­time resident of the Newbrook Lodge, being its first guest admitted when the lodge opened.

She was an active member of St. Alban’s Anglican Church; was an original worker of the first Girl Guide committee in Brooks; and a volunteer worker for the Red Cross during World War II and received a service badge in recognition of her labors. Mrs. Dibble was also a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion EID Branch 63.

Mrs.Dibble was predeceased by her husband Thomas, who died in 1949, and is survived by nieces and nephews in England.

The funeral services were held Thursday, March 6 at 2 p.m. from St. Alban’s Anglican Church, the Rev. C.E. Mortimer officiating, with interment following at the Brooks Cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Dougall, Wilf Hall, Frank Lomas, D.S.M. Ferguson, George Nelson and Cliff Kraft.

If individuals desire, donations may be made to the St. Alban’s Anglican Church Memorial Fund. Smith’s funeral home was in charge of the arrangemen­ts.
