Dick, Allan

DICK – Allan Stephen Dick beloved husband of Viola Penner of Brooks, Alberta died on June 13, 1991 at Duck Lake, Montana at the age of 62 years.

He was born at Beaverlodge, Alberta on April 22, 1928 where he lived until moving to Brooks in 1957.

He owned and operated his own trucking business until 1983 when he went to work for the EID.

Allan spent many months of the year traveling and was a man of great enthusiasm for life and enjoyed the outdoors. He particularity loved fishing and had travelled to Duck Lake for many years where a boating accident claimed his life doing what he loved most.

Allan was predeceased by his wife Jean Elizabeth on January 31, 1983 and father Frank in 1974 and his mother Gertrude in 1990.

Besides his loving wife Viola of Brooks he is survived by his children, Graeme Allan Dick of Lethbridge and Sally-Jean Dick of Calgary, his brothers Gary (Connie) and their son Tyler of Beaverlodge and Dennis (Dorene) of Houston, B.C., and his sister Genevieve (Malcolm) Tripp of Calgary.

Funeral service was held at St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Brooks on Tuesday, June 18 at 2 p.m. with the Reverend David Asher officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were Earl Chudleigh, Allan Kerr, Cliff Redelback, Steve Merkl, Lavern Wombold and Earl Wombold. Active pallbearers were John Abbis, Brent Grohn, John Kazimir, Bill Kazimir, Robert Matoba and Keith Young.
