DOBLE· Emery Marshall Doble passed away in Brooks on July 22nd, 1997 at the age of 89 years.
Born in Weston, Oregon he came to Canada in 1928 to Rainier. Emery had served in the Royal Canadian Army and after his discharge he returned to Brooks and had resided in Brooks, Rainier and Scandia.
Emery married Violet Lee in 1966 and together they moved to Denver, Colorado until returning to Alberta in September of 1978. During his working career he had been employed in farming, beekeeping and construction. He had been residing at the Newbrook Lodge for the last few years.
Emery was predeceased by his wife Violet in 1978 and 5 brothers and sisters. He is survived by Violet’s children David Lee and his wife Carrie of Denver and Elaine Brown and her husband Jim of Salmon Arm, B.C.; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers Wilbert (Ruth) Doble of Claresholm and Bob (Margaret) Doble of Rainier; 1 sister Mildred Plant of Grande Prairie and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Monday, July 28th at 2:00 p.m. from Smith’s Memorial Chapel. Rev. George Edmonds officiated.
Honorary pallbearers and fraternal services were supplied from the EID Legion.
