DOBLE – Ernest Edward Doble died on October 12, 1985 in the Brooks Health Centre at the age of 60 years.
He was born at Bonners Ferry, Idaho, U.S.A. and came to Canada with his parents in 1928 to homestead in the Lomond district.
He served with the Canadian Armed Forces in the Second World War.
He married Adeline Schneider on April 5, 1946 and has resided at Rainier, Scandia and Brooks, operating heavy equipment for over 30 years.
He was a member of the E.I.D. Branch, Royal Canadian Legion.
Surviving are his wife Adeline of Brooks; his children, George and his wife Susan of Woking. Alberta. Colleen Lasante and her husband Bert of Millicent, Barry and his wife Shirley of Brooks, Terry and his wife Beth of Rycroft, Kevin and his wife Niana of
Brooks. Darcy and his wife Kevin of Lacombe and Sharla Merlin and her husband Billy of Brooks; 12 grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Wilbur and his wife Ruth of Claresholrn, Levi of Seattle , Emery of Scandia, Bob and his wife Marg of Rainier,
Milly Plant and her husband Oliver of Nanton, Hartley of Vulcan and Clarence and his wife Elsie of Seattle; three aunts and an uncle Earl Taylor and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 16 (today) at 2 p.m. in Smith Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Jim Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in the Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers are members of the E.I.D. Legion. Quinton Donovan, Gabe Corbeil, Chuck Hale, Fred Gratrix, jack Rutledge and Ben Coornbs.
If friends desire memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Paraplegic Association.
