Dowling, J. Malcom

DOWLING – John Malcolm Dowling,  beloved husband of Margaret  Dowling of Brooks, passed away  peacefully in Brooks on February  3rd, 2003 at the age of 78 years.  Born in Duchess on September  12th, 1924 Malcolm received all  his education there: Malcolm and  Margaret were married in Swift  Current on November 29th, 1958.  They farmed in the Duchess area  for a number of years before retiring  to Brooks in 1986. Malcolm was  very active with the Duchess Minor  Hockey Association, curling, golfing,  baseball, the BrooksMuseum and  Meals on Wheels. He loved his family,  sports, outdoors and travelling.  Malcolm will be remembered for his  humour, kindness and willingness  to help others. He was predeceased  by his parents Wade and Martha  Dowling and 2 brothers Keith and  Stanley. Malcolm is survived by his  loving family, wife Margaret of Brooks; son Tim and his wife Wanda of  Vegreville; daughter Sandra Bandura of Vegreville; 4 grandchildren Amanda,  Ashley, Cory and Richard all of Vegreville; sister Laura Remple of Calgary  and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM  on Friday, February 7th from BrooksUnitedChurch. Rev. George Edmonds  officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were his grandchildren Amanda Bandura,  Ashley Bandura, Cory Bandura and Richard Dowling. Active Pallbearers were  Clyde Remple, Robin Remple, Brett Hobbs, Bob Besplug, Karl Jacobson and  Mike Holden.
