DRADER – Elmer Hughlund Drader of Brooks, Alberta died on April 2, 1988 at the age of 54 years.
He was born at Radway, Alberta on November 24, 1933 and resided at Newbrook, Hondo and Edmonton.
He married the former Marlene Villeneuve on October 8, 1960 in Smith, Alberta.
While in Smith he did some mixed farming but his main interest was in the oilfield and road construction industry where he was self-employed. In 1969, he formed Warrade Contractors Ltd., which he continued to operate until his passing.
Elmer and his family moved to Brooks in 1969 where he continued to work in the oilpatch.
He enjoyed the outdoors and his favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing.
He was predeceased by his father, Earl Drader in 1976.
Surviving are his wife Marlene of Brooks, three sons, Randy, Robyn and Darren and a daughter, Dalene, all of Brooks, his mother, Edna Drader of Westlock, three sisters and their families, Ada and her husband Jack Vassberg of Valleyview, Phyllis Drader of Boyle and Donna and her husband Marcel Tessier of Spruce Grove.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 6 (today) at 2:00 p.rn. in the Evangelical Free Church in Brooks with the Reverend Levi Smoker officiating. Interment will follow in the Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Arnold Roth, Ray Sideritsch, Ron Wagener, Steve Paches, Dave Rowntree and Butch Graling.
If friends desire memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of their choice.
