She was born at Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. and moved to Hranovnica, Czechoslovakia and at the age of 19 returned to the United States to Jersey City, N.J. where her cousin resided.
She was employed as a governess in New York City until marrying at Bayonne, N.J. She moved to Youngstown, Ohio and in 1930 moved to Tilley where she has resided since.
She was predeceased by her husband John on May 2, 1981 and a sister Maria Brosmanova in Czechoslovakia.
Surviving are two sons John of Tilley and Edward and his wife Bonnie of Three Hills, eight daughters, Mary Orr and her husband Jerry of Calgary, Ann Harnack and her husband Cecil of Beiseker, Helen Hollenzer and her husband John of Tilley, Emilie Dunay of Tilley, Julia Tweedle and her husband Wes of Lindale, Martha Hagel and her husband Robert of Schuler, Cecilia Dunay of Calgary and Clarice Bicknell and her husband Ken of Abbotsford, B.C., 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and three nieces and a nephew in Czechoslovakia.
Prayer service was held on Monday, July 4 at 7 p.m. in Smith Memorial Chapel and funeral mass was celebrated on Tuesday, July 5 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brooks with the Reverend John Petravicius and the Reverend John Kadlac, S.J., celebrants. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Orr, Cecil Harnack, John Hollenzer, Wes Tweedle, Robert Hagel and Ken Bicknell. Active pallbearers were Vince Orr, David Hollenzer, Rodney Harnack, Bradley Tweedle, Bruce Tweedle and David Dunay.
