DUPUIS – Miss Paula Marie Anne Dupuis passed away peacefully in Brooks on November 9th, 1997 at the age of 91 years.
Paula was born in St. Constant, Laprairie, Quebec on September 2, 1906 and moved west as a young child with her family to homestead at Sedley, Saskatchewan where she received her education. Paula remained at home to care for her seven younger siblings and later for her mother and father who passed away in 1950 and 1956 respectively. Paula continued her homemaking career for her two brothers who remained on the family farm in Sedley. She was an active member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Women’s League, the Sedley Garden Club and the Sewing Club. Paula retired to Brooks in 1968 and in 1981 became a resident of Newbrook Lodge where she enjoyed many friendships and activities. Paula was admitted to Brooks Health Centre Long Term Care Unit in 1995. Paula will be best remembered for her kind, gentle nature and for her love of people.
She was predeceased by her brothers Patrick (in infancy), Gerard, and Rocque; sisters Simone Shuler ,and Annette Feaviour.
Paula is survived by her brother Matthew Dupuis of Sedley; sister Patricia Pupuis of Regina; sister-in-law Margaret Dupuis of Regina; brother-in-law Lawrence Shuler of Edmonton; two nieces Lucreta and her husband Dave Barry of Brooks and Diane Ford of Edmonton, and two nephews Dennis Shuler of Banff and Peter Puckall of Regina.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12th from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Bryan Frank celebrant.
Pallbearers Were Lucreta Barry, Dave Barry, Diane Ford, Dennis Shuler, Peter Puckall and Susan Hawkins.
