DICK – Elizabeth (Betty) Dick passed away in Brooks on November 5th, 1999 at the age of 77 years.
Born in Medicine Hat on March 29th, 1922 to Thomas and Jesse Brown, Betty received her education in Vauxhall. Betty and her family moved to Cassils where she married George Hart in 1941 and later married Herb Dick on May 21 st, 1947 in Brooks and resided in Bow City. They later moved to Cassils in 1950 where they farmed until 1967, when retiring to an acreage west of Brooks. Betty entered the Newbrook Lodge in 1992 and later the Brooks and District Health Centre Long Term Care in 1998, where she has resided since. She will be remembered for her ability to find good in everyone, for all her hard work and for her great cooking. Betty loved her family, nature and animals.
She was predeceased by her husband Herb in 1985 and 10 brothers and sisters.
Betty is survived by her loving family Thomas (Karen) Hart of Brooks and their children Tom Jr. (Melissa and their children Danielle and Brendon) of Calgary, Scott, Jason and Clayton all of Brooks; Wes (Dauna) of Medicine Hat and their children Kimberly and Kelly both of Medicine Hat; Betty Lou (Bill) Bildersheim of Brooks and their children Kristi (Scott) and Brandi all of Brooks; Larry of Medicine Hat and his children Candace (Tim) of Regina and Holly of Victoria; Dick (Joan) of Brooks; 1 sister Jean Burns of Barons and numerous nieces and nephews.
