ECCLES – Alvin Eccles of Brooks, Alberta died on August 19, 1987 at the age of 94 years.
He was born at Holstein, Ontario on August 23, 1892.
He married his wife Jessie on June 20, 1918 at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and homesteaded at Eyebrow, Saskatchewan, before moving to Patricia in 1920 where he farmed until retiring to Brooks in 1966.
He was a member of the Patricia Friendship Club.
He was predeceased by his wife Jessie.
Surviving are three daughters, Lavina and her husband Cliff Kane of Reseda, California, Iris and her husband Randy Klaver of Comox, B.C., and Beth and her husband Elwood Sherman of Lethbridge, a sister Beatrice McWilliams of Mount Forrest, Ontario, 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held on Monday, August 24 at 2 p.m. in Smith Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Yoline Conley officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Howard Sherman, Darcy Sherman, Bruce Klaver, Edward Seltz, Roger Reid and Neil Parisien.
