EDGERTON – Mary Edgerton of Scandia, Alberta passed away in the Brooks Health Care Centre on February 24th, 1993 at the age of 79 years.
Mary was born on April 12th in Russia and at the age of 11 immigrated to Canada settling with her family at Hebert, Saskatchewan. She later moved to the New Brigden and Sedalia areas before moving to Cereal where she worked as a cook at the local hotel and hospital. In 1965 she married Thomas Edgerton and together they worked in the oil and gas industry until retiring to Tilley in 1975. They later moved to Scandia and resided there until her passing.
Mary had many friends and she enjoyed crocheting, knitting and often said that her greatest joy was spending time with Tom gardening.
She was predeceased by her husband Tom on December 4th, 1992, her father Henry in 1955 and her mother Agnes in 1962, and two sisters, Agnes in 1983, and Katherine (Kay) in 1991.
She leaves to remember her with love, one brother George Ewert of Oyen, one sister, Martha Scoville of Calgary, and numerous dearly loved nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at the Brooks United Church with the Reverend Susan Lukey and the Reverend David Robertson officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris Vermeeren, Allan Sandau, Bruce Takeda, Eric Pedersen, George Fukuda and Don Jacobson.
