HANSCAM – Alma Hanscam died in the Brooks Health Centre on January 19, 1989 at the age of 88 years.
She was born at Gooderham, Ontario and came to Saskatchewan with her father in 1922.
She married in 1923 and resided in Claydon, Saskatchewan moving to Rolling Hills in 1940. She farmed with her husband until his death in 1966 and moved to Brooks to the Brooks Health Centre Nursing Home in 1988.
She was also predeceased by a son Robert in 1933, a daughter Stella in 1979 and a grandson Donald Wardrop in 1987.
Surviving are a son Kenneth of Rolling Hills, three daughters, Naomi Wardrop and her husband Bill of Abbotsford, B.C., Joann Hovdestad and her husband Roy of Dinsmore, Sask. and Lillian Grue and her husband Alden of Rolling Hills, 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one brother, Joseph Armstrong of Michigan.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 24 at 1 p.m. in the Rolling Hills Community Hall with the Reverend Abe Harder officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wayne Hovdestad, Larry Hovdeiltad, Dan Wardrop, Melvin Grue, Bob Grue and Dale Wardrop.
