Hansen, Edna E & Otto RHANSEN – Edna E. Hansen (Bastien), beloved wife of the late Otto Hansen, passed away in Brooks on December 14th, 1999 at the age of 82 years.

Born in LaPas, Manitoba on October 5th,1917 she moved with her parents to Saskatchewan and later settled in Alberta. Edna married Otto on March 10th, 1938 and resided in various locations in southern Alberta before settling in Bingville in 1940. They moved to the Tilley area in 1942 and retired to Brooks in 1975.

Edna is also predeceased by her parents Lucien and Reginal and one brother Joe. She is survived by her loving family, sons Earl and his wife Jean of Two Hills, Lee and his wife Joanne of Sylvan Lake; three daughters Loretta Simo and her husband Joe of Tilley, Jill Mrakava and her husband Val of Tilley and Kaye Hansen of Edmonton; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; two brothers Armand Bastien of Langley and Bob Bastien of Abbottsford; two sisters Elmire Soukup of Calgary and Annette Archer of Victoria and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 18th from Smith Memorial Chapel. Tim Arnett officiated.

Active pallbearers were her six youngest grandsons, Denes Simo, Monty Simo, Everett Mrakava, Genesee Hansen, Kent Hansen and Trevor Hansen.
