HOFMANN – Harland Sylvester Hofmann died at Brooks, Alberta on August 29, 1992 at the age of 67 years.
He was born at Two Inlets, Minnesota, U.S.A. on March 5, 1925 and came to Canada in September, 1930 to the Rainy River district in Ontario. In 1939 he moved to Sarnia and in 1952 moved to Rolling Hills where he farmed until retiring to Brooks in 1975. He entered Newbrook Lodge in November, 1991. He was a member of the Prairie Pioneers.
He was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Anna Hofmann, a brother Lee and sister Cleora Boudion.
Surviving are four sisters, Dorothy Dupuis of Chalk River, Ontario. Gladys Couture of Sarnia, Ontario, Loraine Creviere of Sarnia, Ontario and Ven Spacial of Lafond, Alberta; six brothers, Don and Ray of Brooks, Ralph of Two Hills, Frank of Rocky Mountain House, Les of Merritt, B.C. and Walter of Lewiston, Mich. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Reverend Keith Sorge celebrant. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Frank Zahenaiko, Don Hofmann, Ray Hofmann, Ralph Hofmann, Frank Hofmann and George Hofmann.
