Ferguson, David Stewart McKay

FERGUSON – David Stewart McKay (Fergie) Ferguson of Brooks, Alberta died on March 8, 1989 at the age of 78 years.

He was born at Claresholm and farmed at Bindloss, Alberta and was later employed at the Provincial Mental Hospital in Ponoka.

He joined the RCAMC in 1940 and served in England from 1943 to 1946. He moved to Brooks in 1947 and operated Brooks Studio until December, 1976.

He was active in the Jaycees and the E.I.D. Legion No. 63 where he was a life member and held offices as the President and Zone Commander.

Surviving are his wife Violet of Brooks two sons, Gordon of Revelstoke, B.C., Ross and his wife Jo Ann of Truro, Nova Scotia; his daughter Evelyn and her husband Dennis Davies of Sundre, Alberta; nine grandchildren and four great­grandchildren.

Funeral service was held on Saturday, March 11 at 2 p.m. in Smith Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Jim Hamilton officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jack Lelond, Roy Vorra, Wilf Hall, AI Reesor, Ben Coombs and George Anderson.
