GENEAVE JEANETTE (JEAN) FREIMUTH – Jean Freimuth passed away at the Brooks Health Centre on January 10, 1985 at the age of 68 years. She was born at Empress and attended her school at Duchess finishing in Millicent. She married Carl Johnson residing in Patricia and later in Medicine Hat. She moved to B.C. in 1942, resided at Alberni and Oliver before returning to Alberta in 1955. She married Chris Freimuth and lived in Rolling Hills before moving to Cochrane to reside with her son Murray and family for five years. She then returned to Brooks and has been a resident of Pioneer Villa for the last year. She was predeceased by her first husband Carl in 1966. Surviving are her five children, two daughters, Shirley and her husband Adolf Franz of Grand Forks, B.C. , Donna and her husband Paul Balogh of Osoyoos, B.C.; three sons, Robert Johnson and wife Laura of Penticton, B.C., Eldon Johnson and wife Carol of Brooks, and Murray Johnson and wife Pat of Cochrane; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pearl Unchelenko of Brooks and Bernice Widdiﬁeld of Airdrie; two brothers, Arnold and Willie Cyr, both of Brooks; also numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held on January 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Smith Memorial Chapel with Mrs. Judi Broadfoot officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were George Charlton, Evert Ohman, John McBurnie, Bob Holms, Tony Stanker and Gordon Widdifield. Active pallbearers were Bobby Johnson, Jim Johnson, Tony Johnson, Louie Cyr, Dennis Cyr, Ernie Cyr.
