Galicz, John

GALICZ – John Galicz, beloved husband  of Teresa Galicz of Brooks, passed away  in Brooks, Alberta on January 24th, 2000  at the age of 84 years.

Born on July 12th, 1915 in Kiskunhalas,  Hungary John came to Canada in 1927  to Manitoba. He came west to Alberta in  1940 to work in the coal mines at East  Coulee. John and Terry Repas were  married in Drumheller on March lst, 1941  and moved to Duchess in 1959. He  operated a home decorating business and  drove school bus for many years. John  and Terry moved to Brooks in 1996 and  have resided here since. He will be best  remembered for his love of, people, for  his love of hunting, fishing and the  outdoors and for the enjoyment he  received travelling to the state of Nevada  with his family.

Besides his wife Terry, John is also  survived by his loving family, his daughter  Deanna Green of Calgary, his son Robert  and his wife Doreen of Brooks, his  beloved grandson Brian and numerous  brothers, sisters and nieces and  nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 :00 a.m. on Friday, January 28th from Smith Memorial  Chapel.

Pallbearers were Brian Galicz, Andy Barath, John Stroebele, Greg Friesen, Bob Repas and Jim Jones.
