He was born at Walsh, Alberta in 1913 and left home at a very early age to work in various parts of Alberta including Bow City, Coleman, Calgary and Olds, and has resided in Brooks for the past 23 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn in 1982.
Surviving are three daughters, Maralyn Johnson of Brooks: Mrs. Judy Larson of Brooks and Jean Whitney of Calgary, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, Jessie and Justin, and numerous nieces and nephews, five sisters, Christine of Medicine Hat, Mary of Taber, Esther of Lousana, Jean of Redcliff and Rachel of Taber, four brothers, Jack of Calgary, Mike of Calgary, AIIan of Medicine Hat and Howard of Taber.
Funeral service was held on Friday August 21 at 2 p.rn. in Smith Memorial Chapel with Pastor Charles Ramer officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roddy Johnson, Dion Johnson, Robin Johnson, Kelly Whitney, David Genert and Bill Genert.
Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangement.
