He was born at Lethbridge, Alberta on February 2, 1921 to Alfred and Nora Glover, one of six sons.
Following the death of his father the family moved to England and Jim joined he RAF serving through the war years.
He married Gladys Durfee in 1942 in Calgary and following the war worked for Alberta Government Telephones for 30 1/2 years, retiring in 1976.
He was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion No. 63, Brooks, a past president of the Lions Club and was very active in the Boy Scouts and the Air Cadets.
Surviving are his wife Gladys of Brooks, a son Richard (Anne) of Brooks, two daughters, Nikki (Bert) Oldenburger of Iron Springs, Alberta and Vicki (Andre) Bonin of Brooks, six grandchildren and two brothers John and Bill Glover.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 11 (today) at 2 p.m. in Smith Memorial Chapel with the Reverend David Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in the Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Dave Robertson, Bob Stokoe, Andy Schlachter, Don Bauer, Bob Strach and Vic Zagorsky.
If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alberta Heart and Lung Association.
