GOBEIL – Ludger Gobeil of Medicine Hat, Alberta died on October 20, 1987 at the age of 82 years.
He was born at Ste. Cecile, Conte Megantic, Quebec on March 29, 1905 and was raised and educated in the area. He moved with his parents to Dollard, Saskatchewan and worked on the family farm. He moved to Rolling Hills in 1939 and farmed there and in various places throughout Alberta before retiring to Redcliff and later to Medicine Hat where he has resided since.
He married the former Adrienne Gobeil on February 29, 1972 in Great Falls.
Surviving are his wife Adrienne, two stepsons Andre (Therese) Rosa and Antonin Rosa all residing in Quebec, three stepdaughters, Madelaine (Filicien) Allie, Martine Poulin both of the U.S.A., Margueritte (Andre) Loubier of Quebec, 15 stepgrandchildren, one brother Andre Gobeil of Montreal, and three sisters Gloria (Eugene) Coderre of Dollard, Sask., Corona (Fred) Charest of Brooks, Lucie Auger of Redcliff as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass was held on Friday, October 23 at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Medicine Ha! with the Reverend Fr. Dan Slevenot celebrant. Interment followed at 2 p.m. in the Brooks Cemetery. .
