GOLD – James Ludvic Gold died in the Brooks Health Centre on July 15, 1985 at the age of 76 years. He was born at Maple Creek, Saskatchewan and ranched north of there until moving to the Patricia district in 1952. He farmed until retiring in 1973 and moved to Brooks in 1974 where he has resided since. Surviving are his wife, Ruby of Brooks; two daughters, lrene and her husband, Doug Gray of Patricia, Minnie of Turner Valley; two sons, Gordon and his wife, Darlene of Nanaimo, B.C. and Victor and his wife, Linda of Penticton; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Madge Pollock and Janet Shick of Maple Creek and Alice McNab of Toronto; three brothers, Bill, Roy and Alan, all of Maple Creek and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 18 at 2 p.m. at Smith Memorial Chapel with the Reverend James Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in the Brooks Cemetery. Pallbearers are Albert Irwin, Alf Tobler, John Baran Sr., Les Bailey, Maurice Grimshaw and Dempster Havens. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
