Graham, Grace Willifred

GRAHAM – Grace Winnifred Graham  passed away September 7th, 2002  at the age of 89 years. She was  born June 13th, 1913 in Camrose,  Alberta to James Percy and Jessie  Gage Capsey – – one of seven  daughters born to those pioneering  parents whose ancestors came from  England. She attended public school  in Camrose then attended Normal  School to become a teacher. She  eventually taught at the BowSlope  High School in Rainier where she met  and married Robert (Bob) Graham  and lived on the family farm, then  Medicine Hat and Port Coquitlam,  B.C.

She was a selfless person, always  putting her family ahead of her own  concerns. She was the organist at  the RainierUnitedChurch. She was  always involved in community activities, supporting her children in 4~H,  Church activities, sports, all musical endeavors such as community band,  piano lessons, singing and educational opportunities.

During the middle 1950’s, she resumed her teaching career as principal  of AlcomaSchool and also spent 10 years teaching at the Medicine Hat  High School.

She was predeceased be her husband Robert, four sisters, Ernestine  Whitney, Lillian Noden, Florence Karpoff and Sally Capsey. She is survived  by Betty (Dave) Miller of Bassano and son Rob, Jan McClain of Norway  along with daughter and son, Jennifer and Scott, Bob (Gail) Graham of  Medicine Hat and sons, Bob Jr., Brock, and Braden, Nancy (Ken) McCargar  of Port Coquitlam, B.C. along with son and daughter, Graham and Kelly and  two sisters, Persis Wight and Evelyn Whitmore.

A memorial service will be held in the BowSlopeUnitedChurch at Rainier  on Saturday, October 12, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Worden  officiating. This will be followed by inurnment in the RainierCemetery and a  luncheon at the Rainier Hall.
