GRANDMAISON – Alma Mary Grandmaison died in the auxiliary wing, Brooks Health Centre on September 24, 1988 at the age of 87 years.
She was born at Edmunston, New Brunswick and was married there to Albert Burgoin who predeceased her in 1928.
She moved to Senneterre, Quebec where she married Leo Grandmaison and together they operated a hotel and restaurant. They resided in Long Lac and Sudbury, Ontario and continued in the restaurant and hotel business.
Following the death of Leo in 1971 she moved to Niagara Falls to reside with her daughter and family. They came to Brooks in 1981 where she has resided since.
She was also predeceased by three daughters, Aline, Annette and Yvette, a son Adrian and grandson Denis.
Surviving are a daughter Rita and her husband John St. Louis of Brooks, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 28 (today) at 10:30 a.m. in Smith Memorial Chapel with the Reverend John Petravicius officiating. Interment will follow in the Brooks Cemetery.
