GREAVES· Isabel Belle Greaves, beloved wife of Raymond Greaves, passed away in Brooks on December 19th, 1999 at the age of 79 years.
Born in Medicine Hat on April 17th, 1920 she received all her education in Medicine Hat. Belle married Ray on April 12th, 1941 in Medicine Hat and lived in Winnipeg and Newfoundland before moving to Brooks in 1946, where they have resided since. Belle was an active member with The Order of The Eastern Star, Brooks United Church groups and the E.I.D. Legion. She will be remembered for her kind heart, for always being a compassionate friend and was known as Auntie Belle to many children. Belle loved her family, friends, visiting, gardening and the church teas.
She was predeceased by her parents Allan and Bessy Hopkins; 1 sister Betty; 2 infant sisters and brother-in-law Bert Russell.
Belle is also survived by her loving family, daughter Lily-Anne Blatch and her husband Derek of Brooks and son Allan of Vancouver; 1 granddaughter Karyn (Herb) Norden and their son Cooper of Tilley; 1 grandson Brad (Lacey) Gustum and their son Nolan of Calgary; 6 siblings, Agnes (Chris) Lattman of Calgary, Allan (Joey) Hopkins of Sidney, B.C., Anne (Lloyd) Hicklin of Calgary, Helen Russell of Medicine Hat, Shirley (Ernie) Tilleman of Medicine Hat and William Hopkins of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, December 22nd, at 2:00 p.m. from the Brooks United Church. Rev. George Edmonds officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of The Order Of The Eastern Star. Active pallbearers will be Wayne Wills, Gary Greaves, Richard Willis, Dennis Freeman, Elmer Doerksen and Glenn Freeman.
