Green, James Arthur

GREEN – James (Jim) Arthur, passed  away suddenly at the RoyalInland  Hospital in Kamloops, British Columbia  on October 18th, 2003 at the age of 82  years. Jim is survived by his loving wife  of 55 years Dorothy (Beisiegel) and six  children – Beverly (Terry) Croft of Gull  Lake, Brenda (Bill) White of Ponoka,  Jim (Judy) Green of Calgary, Susan  (Don) Wood of Victoria, Wendy (Doug)  O’Brien of Celista, British Columbia and  Irene (Mike) MacAulay in the USA. He  is also survived by grandson Roman  Forczek of Lacombe and 9 additional  grandchildren. Jim was born in Brooks on January 31st, 1921 and along  with six siblings, was raised in the  Duchess and Brooks area. Jim joined  the Royal Canadian Air Force and  served overseas in WW II. He left  the Air Force in 1962 and returned to  Duchess to the original family farm.  The family moved to Brooks in 1967 where Jim worked with the County of  Newell. They moved to Rosemary in 1974 where they owned and operated  GREEN’S GENERAL STORE. In the early 1970’s Jim ran with the Social  Credit Party for the Crowfoot Constituency. His passions were politics and  a love for The Lord. His words were often published in various newspapers.  Jim and Dorothy retired to Bentley, Alberta in 1980 and finally in 1990 to  Celista where they have lived by the ShuswapLake. Funeral services will  be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 24th from Smith Memorial Chapel.  Interment to follow at Brooks Cemetery. A reception will follow at the  EID Legion.
