GREEN – James Laurence Green of Duchess, Alberta died in the Brooks Health Centre on July 19, 1985 at the age of 73 years. He was born at Gainsborough, Saskatchewan and married Margaret Emily Simpson on October 14, 1941 and farmed at Gainsborough until moving to Duchess in 1959. He farmed until 1970 and was then employed by the Old Dutch Potato Plant until retiring in 1982. He was a member of the 50 Plus Club in Duchess. Surviving are his wife, Margaret of Duchess; six children, Bruce and his wife Kay and son Larry of Peace River, Wayne of Mayerthorpe, Willene and her husband, Wayne Stuckey and sons, Bill and Russel of Grande Prairie, Kay and her husband, Bob Martel and children, Zac and Joshua of Brooks, Gwen and her husband, Bob Martel and children, Mike and Carmen of Seven Persons, Pete and his wife, Sylvia and children, Jessica and Jordan of Brooks; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Gordon of Carievale, Saskatchewan and Mrs. Ina Shedeck of Carnduff, Saskatchewan; a brother, Norman of Carnduff, Saskatchewan and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held on Monday, July 22 at 2 p.m. in Smith Memorial Chapel with the Reverend James Hamilton officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Roads, Bud Trimmer, Walter Shepherd, Ken McKnight, George Buck and Ralph Klautt. Active pallbearers were Lloyd Flaws, Bernie Elsbett, Bob McKnight, Pat McKnight, Nobby Fujimoto and Bill Lee. If friends desire memorial donations may be made to the charity of their choice.
