INNES — Joseph Francis Innes, beloved husband of Wilma Innes, passed away in Brooks on August 27th, 2000 at the age of 61 years.
Joe was born in Baillieston, Scotland on June 11th, 1939. He and Wilma Muir were married there on October 3rd, 1964 and came to Canada with their family on August 26th, 1975 to Brooks. Joe worked in construction for the first few years and then with maintenance at the Brooks Health Centre. He was a member of the Elks and the Golf Club in Brooks and loved to play cards and golf. Joe will be best remembered for his love for his family, especially his grandchildren; for being a quiet, gentle man and for his willingness to help others.
He was predeceased by his parents William and Margaret and two brothers Peter in Scotland and Jim in BC.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife Wilma of Brooks, son Peter and his wife Natalie of Red Deer; 2 daughters, Marie Yeomans and her husband Darwin and Susan Dyck and her husband Vic all of Brooks; 8 grandchildren Brent, Mitchell, Megan, Kevin, Jason, Brendan, Ethan and Eric; his sister Margaret Bowering and her husband Howie of Medicine Hat; 2 brothers, Norman and his wife Susan and William all in Scotland; sister-in-law May Innes of Abbotsford, BC and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 2nd from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brooks. Rev. Bryan Frank celebrant. Honorary pallbearers are all his family and friends both here and in Scotland. Active pallbearers are members of Joe’s family. Interment to follow at Brooks Cemetery.
