KOROSI – Louis Korosi Sr. died in the Brooks Health Centre on April 20, 1986 at the age of 89 years.
He was born at Szikszo, Hungary and married Ester Biro in Hungary and came to Canada in 1929 to Welling, Alberta. He moved to Raymond in 1930 and to the Brooks district in 1932 and farmed in the One Tree area. He purchased the Oxford Hotel in 1952 and managed it for 18 years. He enjoyed gardening, especially his flowers, fishing, bowling and bingo.
He was predeceased by his wife Ester on December 18, 1966 and his son Louis on October 24, 1971.
Surviving are his daughter-in-law Helen Korosi of Brooks; three grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 23 (today) at 2 p.m. in Smith Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Yoline Conley officiating. Interment will follow in the Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joe Kalo, Joe Hajash, Ernie Kertesz, Steve Yewchuk, Jim Baksa and Bert Orliczki.
If friends desire memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
