THOMAS – Doris Edna Thomas, beloved widow of Norm Thomas, passed away in Brooks on March 12th, 1999 at the age of 76 years.
Born in Toronto on July 23rd, 1922 Doris and Norm were married there on May 19, 1941. They came to Brooks in 1967 and Doris had resided here since. She had been employed as cashier with the Brooks Tom Boy until retiring at the age of 65. Doris will be remembered for her feistiness, for her outgoing personality, for her love of people and for her positive attitude.
She was predeceased by Norm on September 3rd, 1981.
Doris is survived by her loving son Rick and his wife Carol of Coaldale; her beloved grandchildren who were so special to her, Lisa and her husband Dan McLean, Jason and Carol’s son Paul Johnson; great-granddaughter Jena; her former daughter-in-law Bev Thomas of Calgary; nieces; nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16th from Smith Memorial Chapel, Brooks. Rev. George Edmonds officiated.
Pallbearers were Jason Thomas, Dan McLean, Paul Johnson, Garry Johnson, Tim Johnson, Joe Yarrow and Tim Yarrow.
