FARNHAM — William Eli (Slim) of Brooks, Alberta passed away at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary on March 23, 1992 at the age of 78 years.
Loving father of Gayle and Alex Lockton of Calgary, Linda and Bill Tell of Brooks, grandfather of Shannon and Wade Dayment, Cindy and Steve Hilton, Rod Tell & Barry Tell all of Calgary, and great.-grandfather of Shantel Dayment and Ashley Hilton of Calgary. Slim is also survived by his sister, Thelma Jacobson of Brooks and his brother Glenn Farnham of Red Deer, numerous brothers & sisters-in-laws, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous friends, Sis of Bassano and Pal Boomer. Slim was born in Clemens, (Cereal), Alberta, Dec. 28, 1915. He married Vi Cowan on Sept. 9, 1944 in Brooks. They moved to Calgary where he worked as a truck driver. In 1947, they moved to Bow City where he worked as a mechanic until moving to Brooks in 1953. He worked in construction until he joined Alberta Gas Trunkline now Nova Corporation in 1959 where he was employed until his retirement in 1980.
Slim was predeceased by his mother in May 1926, his stepmother Sept. 1952, his father Nov. 1968 and his loving wife November 1989.
Memorial service will be held Monday, March 30, 1992 at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ken Grambo officiating.
