KADEY – Charles Laverne Kadey died at his home at Duchess. Alberta on April 4. 1986 at the age of 74 years.
He was born at Okotoks. Alberta and taught at West Duchess School in 1930.
He married Eva Kramer in Medicine Hat in 1937 and moved to Duchess in 1939 to teach school.
He served overseas during the second World War and following his discharge from the service he eturned to Duchess and ran the post office for a few years and later taught industrial arts at the Rosernary school until retiring in 1971.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion E.I.D. Branch No. 63.
Surviving are his wife Eva of Duchess: a daughter Myrna and her husband Reverend Robert Brownlie of St. Andrews. Manitoba; a son Gerald and his wife Peggy of Calgary: two brothers Albert and Thomas in Ontario; a sister Evelyn Herr of
DeWinton, Alberta: one niece and three nephews.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday. April 8 at 11 a.m. in Smith Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Yoline Conley officiating. Burial took place at 3 p.rn. in Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Calgary.
Pallbearers were Jake Krarner, Ed Kramer , Rudy Peltzer. Alfred Pcltzer, John Stroebele and Rand Berg.
