KADEY – Eva Elizabeth Kadey of Brooks, Alberta died at Niagara Falls, Ontario on December 15, 1988 at the age of 76 years.
She was born on June 21, 1912 at Gering, Nebraska, U.S.A. and came to Canada with her family in 1918 to Duchess.
She married in Medicine Hat December 24, 1937 and resided in the West Duchess area. She moved to Duchess in 1939 and resided there until recently when she moved to Brooks to the Pioneer Villa.
She was a long time member of the Duchess Lutheran Church and Lutheran Womens Missionary League and was a member of the Duchess 50 Plus.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles Lavern on April 4, 1986.
Surviving are a daughter Myrna and her husband Reverend Robert Brownlee of Niagara Falls, a son Gerald and his wife Peggy of Calgary, a granddaughter Megan Brownlee, two sisters Catherine Marks of Houston, Texas and Elizabeth Meyers of St. Ignatius, Montana, four brothers George (Kelly) Kramer of Duchess, Jacob and his wife Gladys Kramer of Medicine Hat, Edward and his wife Betty Kramer of Brooks and David and his wife Cathy Kramer of New Brunswick, a sister-in-law Anna Kramer of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held on Monday, December 19 at 11 a.m. in Smith Memorial Chapel with the Pastor Stephen Shubkegal officiating. Interment took place on Tuesday, December 20 at 11 :30 a.m. at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Calgary.
Pallbearers were Jim Kramer, Don Kramer, Rudy Peltzer, Dean Kramer, Edwin Kirschenman and Alfred Peitzer.
