Peterson, Birger Leonard

PETERSON – Birger Leonard Peterson of Medicine Hat, Alberta died in Calgary on November 19, 1988 at the age of 66 years following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Bassano, Alberta on January 1, 1922 the eldest son of George and Agda Peterson of Rosemary.

He received his schooling in Rosemary and later worked for Fleet Aircraft in Fort Erie, Ontario until joining the R.C.A.F. where he remained until the war ended. Following his discharge he returned to Alberta where he was employed with the CPR in Medicine Hat until his retirement.

He enjoyed gardening for many years when his health permitted.

He was predeceased by his parents George and Agda Peterson.

Surviving are three brothers, George (Grace) of Fort Erie, Ontairo, Erik of Brooks and Gordon (Thelma) of Calgary, one sister, Margaret Lafferty of Medicine Hat and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service was held in Pattison Funeral Chapel on Friday, December 2 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Sid Nelson officiating. Interment followed in the Medicine Hat Cemetery.
