Sartison, Marjorie

SARTISON • Mrs. Marjorie Sartison (nee Backues) passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on November 30, 1995 at the age of 85 years.

Marjorie was born on August 1, 1910 in Taber, Alberta, the twin daughter of John William and Vina (Hardin) Backues. On November 15, 1935, Marjorie married John Sartison of Neidpath, Saskatchewan and to this union three children were born, Herbert, Audrey and Roy. Marjorie worked as a nursing assistant at the Red Deer Regional Hospital from 1958 to 1975. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. She was the sweetest of ladies and we thank the Lord for her gentle spirit.

Marjorie is survived by her three children, Herbert (Pat) Sartison of Ponoka, Audrey (Roger) McLeod of High River and Roy (Jacquie) Sartison of Calgary; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: Mark (Sharon) Sartison of Leduc; Lorie (Brad) Ansell and their children, Alexandra and Rayna of Grand Centre; Kari (Doug) Siewert and their daughter Kaela of Edmonton; Michelle (Brett) Logue and their children, Colton, Jessica and Cassandra of Lethbridge; Lisa McLeod of Edmonton; and Darren and Brian Sartison of Calgary. Marjorie is also survived by a very special niece, Phyllis McGinnis of Nanaimo, B.C. as well as three nephews, Renlfed (Helen) Knapp, Clayton (Marion) Knapp and Glen (Judy) Knapp. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband John on January 27, 1969; her parents, John and Vina Backues; a brother, Raymond Backues; a sister, Goldie McGinnis; and her twin sister, Margarite Knapp.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Eventide Funeral Chapel, Red Deer on Thursday, December 7, 1995 from 12:30 noon to 1:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the Eventide Funeral Chapel, Red Deer on Thursday, December 7,1995 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Douglas Siewert officiating. Interment will follow in Alto-Reste Memorial Gardens, Red Deer.
