SEWALL – Lawrence (Larry) Jay Sewall of Calgary, Alberta died on March 5,1989 in the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary at the age of 85 years.
He was born at St. Paul, Minnesota, U.S.A. and came as a child with his parents to the Etzikom area in south east Alberta where they ranched. He later lived in the St. Paul, Milk River and Medicine Hat areas in Alberta before moving to the Brooks-Patricia area where he operated a mixed farm and ranch. He had been a resident of the Calgary area since 1960.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sarah, in 1979; two daughters, Lorraine Smith, in 1965: and Shirley Sewall. in 1953: two grandchildren, J.J. Sewall, in December 1982 and Lorraine Sewall in October 1986; two brothers, Cliff and Bud; and three sisters, Sally, Lou and Dora Sewall.
Surviving are two sons, Jim Sewall (Patty) and AI Sewall (Royce), both of Calgary; eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Gladys Sewall, Brooks; and a son-in-law, Ronald Smith, Turner Valley.
Funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 8 at 1 p.m. at Pierson’s Funeral Home in Calgary with the Reverend H.A.L. Sambell of Trinity United Church officiating. Cremation at Rocky View Crematorium.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Larry Smith, Darcy Foster, Loyal Whitney and Shane Sewall and great-nephews, Chad Sewall and Cliff Sewall and the eulogy was given by his nephew Thomas Sewall.
