Walden, James Summers

WALDEN – James Summers Walden of  Brooks, Alberta died in the  Brooks Health Centre on  March 3, 1985 at the age of 73 years.  He was born at Bassano, Alberta and moved to the   Pollockville district with his parents in 1912 to homestead. Jim continued to farm and ranch as well as raise mink, and retired from the farm to Brooks in 1965. He was later involved with painting and renovating and also assisted at Smith Funeral Home. He married Lena Kingsfield at Phoenix, Arizona on October 14, 1980. He was predeceased by his  father in 1935, his mother in 1974 and a brother, Leonard  in 1979. Surviving are his wife,  Lena of Brooks; two aunts, Vera Rhode of Webster, South Dakota and Frances Bassett of Austin, Minnesota and numerous cousins. Honorary pallbearers were   Leonard Halverson, Ken Halverson, Jake Dueck and Hank Houseman. Active pallbearers were Joe Bildersheim, Bob Bildersheim, Rene Buteau, Albie Janko, Gene Tomlinson and Archie Tateson. If friends desire memorial (rest of obit missing).
